Connect your wallet

TaoScale is non-custodial — you sign every action yourself, we never hold your TAO. Here's how to get set up in a couple minutes.

Install a wallet

Add one of the browser extensions below. They're free and non-custodial — you hold your keys.

Create a Polkadot account

Bittensor uses Substrate accounts (addresses starting with 5…). In the wallet, add a Polkadot / Substrate account — not an Ethereum (0x…) one.

Authorize TaoScale

Click Connect on the site. Your wallet pops up — approve the site and select the account to share. In Polkadot.js, use “Connect Accounts”; in Talisman, approve the connection request.

Get some TAO

On testnet, claim from the faucet. On mainnet, transfer TAO to your address. Your balance then shows in the app.

Ledger hardware-wallet support is on the roadmap. Common issue: “No accounts authorized” means the wallet hasn't shared an account with the site yet — approve the connection request, and make sure it's a Substrate (5…) account.
