Methodology

Discovery

Each tempo (~72 minutes), the indexer scans every active Bittensor subnet — currently 128, expanding to 256 in 2026. Trust scores, alpha-token reserves, net TAO flow, emission rates and registration cost are recorded as a Taoflow-aware snapshot.

Consensus

Algorithmic miners on the BT40 subnet propose forward-looking allocations. Validators score each miner by relative realized return after 1,000 blocks. Top performers are weighted; outliers are dampened. No human committee, no governance vote.

Allocation

The composite score selects the top 40 subnets. Weights are score-proportional but capped at 10% per subnet — a structural defense against concentration risk borrowed from the S&P methodology, adapted for dTAO.
